Centra Windows Wins Employer of the Year

Centra Windows has been named Employer of the Year at the annual Langley Business Excellence Awards, just in time for the company’s 40^th anniversary! Though we’ve expanded greatly, we were initially founded in Langley and it means a lot to us all to be recognized in this way.

This win wouldn’t have been possible without our ownership model – Centra has been 100% Employee Owned since buying out our founder in 2019. This is unique in our industry, and it has led to great success ever since. We don’t just measure that success in terms of increased profitability – it’s in how many more of our people get to retire comfortably, how many kids we’re sending to college, and how many people are able to afford their own homes. This model affords amazing opportunities that regular employment does not, and it’s amazing to see so many people flourish because of it.

Employee Ownership has been a part of Centra for a long time, but in the 5 years since we became entirely Employee Owned, we have more than doubled in size. We acquired Supreme Windows of Calgary and their manufacturing plant, allowing us to expand into a second province, and went from 220 to 550 employees. This has allowed so many more people and families to benefit from our ownership model. The awards we’ve won and growth we’ve experienced would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of our incredible teams.

We beat stiff competition to win Employer of the Year, and it’s not the first award we’ve earned in the past couple of years. Other honours include Canada’s Best Managed Companies and Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Cultures, cementing our position as a leading employer in both BC and Alberta.
