Rebates
Geek Level 1
Window replacement is a major investment in your home, and it can be costly. If you’re thinking about upgrading to new, energy-efficient windows in BC, government window rebates may be able to help!
There are a number of BC window rebate options for high-performance products when you choose Centra Windows – BC homeowners are able to save a grand total of up to $14,000 off their renovation projects. More homeowners can now replace their old windows with new, energy-efficient ones, increasing comfort, minimizing household bills, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions. Take a look at this helpful breakdown to see how:
Put it all together, and there’s never been a better time to pursue your window upgrade!
BC window rebates may sound too good to be true… so what’s the catch? There are stipulations to accessing the rebates, including factors such as income, home value, home energy consumption, and product performance. Not all products are eligible for window rebates in BC – only the most efficient ones are. It’s extremely important that you ask your manufacturer if the windows and doors you plan to purchase qualify. Windows require a U-Value of 1.22 or under to access most rebates. A good comparison is rebates for cars – the government may provide help if you’re buying a Tesla, but they aren’t going to subsidize a gas-guzzler.
The onus is also on the customer to secure window rebates – though that’s not to say we won’t be there to guide and educate you along the way. We pride ourselves on being the Window Experts and will strive to ensure you get the best products for your home. You can make use of the links above to find out if you’re eligible for the rebate programs or federal loan.
The latest round of Clean BC Rebates is income-dependent, meaning households earning over a certain amount are ineligible. The income bands are:
In addition, as of 2024, your home has to have an assessed value below $1,230,000. Those who do qualify can save up to $9,500 with this rebate alone. For those who don't, there are still significant savings to be had with Clean BC. The federal government’s Greener Homes Loan also requires the homeowner to have an energy assessment undertaken both before and after renovations.
Not all contractors are certified to offer CleanBC rebates. Thankfully, Centra Windows is one of them. The government is also able to change or cancel these rebate programs without notice.
Definitely. Modern window technology such as LoE coatings makes a bigger difference than most people realize. Centra Windows go a long way toward improving your home comfort, keeping you warmer in winter, cooler in summer, and slashing your energy bills down to size. While rebate-qualifying windows and doors may be higher-end products, opting for them will help futureproof your home as energy costs rise and weather becomes more unpredictable.
