Meet the Winner of Centra’s 2024 Home Renovation Contest!

Another Centra Cares Home Renovation Contest has come to a close! We whittled down hundreds of impactful stories, and we’re proud to announce our 2024 winners – Tanya Trottier and her two daughters, Amelia and Elizabeth. These three women have faced some truly difficult times, but their resilience has shone through and inspired all of us here at Centra Windows and Centra Cares – and we can’t wait to give them the gift of brand-new, high-performance windows and lifelong home comfort!

Tanya's Story

In 2018, Tanya's world was turned upside down with the sudden passing of her beloved husband. Left on disability and unable to work, Tanya faced overwhelming challenges, including dealing with extensive water damage from a roof issue – and the state of the house was made worse by a contractor's mishandling. The aftermath left their home in disarray, diverting funds originally earmarked for much-needed window replacement to making it habitable again.

The Trottier Home

Tanya's home, built in 1959 and with subsequent renovations, currently features a mix of window types, each presenting its own challenges. The original wood-framed windows are the worst offenders and show significant rotting, moisture issues, and drafts, greatly impacting comfort and energy efficiency for the Trottier family. The patio door, installed incorrectly, is also drafty and difficult to operate. In addition, the Trottiers live directly under a flightpath and near a noisy port, severely limiting their peace at home. Modern window technology has a huge impact on comfort, and promises to transform the property by enhancing security, eliminating drafts, reducing energy bills, and cutting down on noise.

Centra Cares Home Renovation Contest

This marks our sixth annual contest, and we’re so honoured to have helped other amazing families in recent years. Previous recipients have stayed in touch since joining the Centra Family, and they’ve told us what an incredible difference the gift of new windows has made to them. We look forward to continuing to share this gift in future! Congratulations once again to Tanya Trottier and her daughters, and thank you to everyone who shared their stories this year.
