Centra Windows and Centra Cares are thrilled to announce the launch of our 6^th annual Home Renovation Contest! Over the past few years, we’ve given families in need the gift of home comfort and energy efficiency by donating and installing high-performance, custom-made Centra Windows – and now it’s time to help someone else! Our Most Recent Renovation

In 2023, we embarked on our first Alberta charity home renovation, and it was undoubtedly our most important to date. The Davis family of Calgary captured our hearts with their story. Jake, a resilient young boy battling an exceptionally rare DNA repair disorder, needed more than just new windows – he needed protection and safety in his own home. With the help of our incredible team and partners, we provided Jake with very special windows that block out 99% of harmful UV radiation, ensuring not just the family’s comfort, but Jake’s health and well-being. This renovation underscores the profound impact our work can have on families in need. About the Home Renovation Contest

At Centra, everything we do revolves around helping families. That’s how the Centra Cares Home Renovation Contest was born. Through this contest, we donate and install a complete set of high-performance windows for a family in need. These windows not only enhance energy efficiency but also improve health, safety, and overall quality of life. Our 2022 winner was the Dineson family. Becky and her three children have faced immense challenges, compounded by the COVID pandemic. With a daughter battling cancer and another suffering unexplained tremors, she spent much time at hospitals. Their home urgently needed renovations, especially the windows, which were drafty, rattling, and covered with plastic in winter. Becky relied on her brother-in-law for home repairs, but his sudden passing at the pandemic's onset left her without crucial support. Centra’s home renovation contest provided much-needed home comfort and stability for Becky and her children during incredibly difficult times.

Why New Windows Matter

Home renovations, especially window replacements, have a big impact on a family’s well-being and even health – but they can also be a costly endeavour. New windows can increase home comfort, lower energy bills all year round, enhance security and safety, boost home value, cut neighbourhood noise, and reduce mould build-up. That’s a lot of help and peace of mind for any homeowner. Through our Home Renovation Contest, we aim to provide all these benefits for a family in need, without them having to worry about the finances.

How to Nominate

You can nominate a deserving family member, friend, neighbour, or even yourself on our dedicated nominations page. Share stories of resilience, dedication, and inspiration – moments that truly embody strength and the spirit of community. Last time, we received 250 nominations, each and every one of them impactful and inspiring. This time, nominations are open in both BC and Alberta, and we’re hoping to get the most ever! Nominations are open between March 1^st and March 31^st, 2024.
