Lead Service Technician

What’s the Job?

We’re looking for a Lead Service Technician to join our Service team for our Supply Only Windows Division in Calgary. This isn’t your average service technician role—you’ll be the go-to expert on large multifamily construction projects where Centra supplies, but does not install, high-performance vinyl windows. You’ll be our boots on the ground, leading service work, troubleshooting tricky issues, and ensuring our product is performing at its best. From QA testing and field fixes to mentoring junior techs and owning VIP service delivery, you’ll play a key role in protecting Centra’s reputation and keeping projects on track.

You’ll use your judgement to plan, execute, and escalate when needed—because you know what matters in the field. You’ll also be a trusted resource for feedback that improves how we build and support our product.

Core Accountabilities

  • On-Site Field Leadership – Lead service efforts on active job sites. Own QA testing, product inspections, and troubleshooting with minimal oversight. Plan service for VIP or complex projects with confidence.
  • Mentorship & Informal Leadership – Provide day-to-day guidance to junior techs and share your know-how. Set the tone on-site and ensure consistent quality.
  • Professional Client Interaction – Represent Centra with professionalism when working with site supers, foremen, and project managers. Communicate clearly and diffuse escalations with ease.
  • Problem Solving & Decision Making – Handle whatever the site throws at you. You’ll use your judgement to resolve issues and escalate when needed—no handholding required.
  • Cross-Team Feedback Loop – Report field insights to our service, manufacturing, and logistics teams. Be part of the continuous improvement cycle by sharing recurring issues and product feedback.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5–7 years of hands-on field experience in construction or technical service—preferably involving residential or multifamily windows and doors.
  • At least 1–2 years in a lead role or mentoring position where you’ve taken charge of service calls or supported junior technicians.
  • Strong technical ability—you know how to assess product performance, complete field repairs, perform water testing, and diagnose issues without relying on a script.
  • Confident, professional presence on job sites—you’re comfortable working with foremen, project managers, and external trades, and know how to de-escalate tense situations.
  • Independent decision-maker with sound judgement—you know when to act and when to escalate, and you don’t wait around for permission.
  • Strong communicator with a clear, respectful style—whether speaking with clients, coaching teammates, or documenting findings.
  • A proactive mindset—you’re someone who shares field insights, spots risks early, and wants to make the product and service better for everyone.
