What’s the job?

The Vinyl Window Fabrication Line Lead at Centra AB ensures the smooth operation of our vinyl fabrication department. As the go-to expert on vinyl cutting, fabrication, punching, and welding, you’ll be key in meeting production goals and upholding Centra’s vision. You’ll manage safety, quality, staff performance, and cost control, with flexibility for overtime and weekend work as required. • Team Leadership: Direct and support your team to achieve targets, provide training, and ensure safety. Handle conflicts and communicate concerns to management.
• Scheduling & Efficiency: Ensure daily and weekly production targets are met, leading huddles to review performance and drive continuous improvement. Coordinate with management to address schedule delays, including arranging overtime.
• Order Completion: Oversee the accuracy and completeness of orders, ensure timely entry of notes into the system, and manage back-ordered items as per production timelines.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure windows meet Centra’s quality standards, follow quality procedures, and maintain readiness for audits.
• Inventory Management: Assist in maintaining inventory levels through regular communication with the purchasing team and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Equipment Care: Ensure proper use and maintenance of equipment, report issues, and coordinate with the Maintenance Dept for scheduled machine downtime.
• Waste Reduction: Minimize waste from staff errors and equipment issues, and report recurring problems to Maintenance and Management.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 2 years in a lead position within a manufacturing environment, vinyl window fabrication experience preferred but not required
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with CNC router operation and experience with saws; experience in a window manufacturing facility is advantageous.
• Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a team, with strong communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Problem-Solving: Effective troubleshooting abilities and a proactive approach to improving processes and efficiency.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift and handle materials as needed for fabrication tasks.
